X-Plane Quickstart Guide

A Scalable Integration Guide For X-Plane Users

This guide is designed to assist users in configuring X-Plane 12.10 or later to implement warp and blend files generated from a Scalable calibration and loading them into X-Plane’s Projection Parameters. Before moving forward, it is assumed that the user has completed data collection, set up the screen, and defined the image boundary within the Scalable software. In addition, utilization of an extended desktop, with Nvidia Mosaic disabled, and position control monitors on the rightmost side of the window layout is a requirement for successful deployment.

Note:

When arranging multiple displays in Windows Display Settings for optimization with X-Plane, ensure that any control monitor is the rightmost display. Furthermore, the monitor running X-Plane should be the leftmost display.

Scalable Configuration

  1. Navigate to the Perspective panel on the left side of the Scalable software and select Add Eyepoint.
  2. Establish an eye point of your choice. Be sure to select Calculate symmetric frusta at this stage.
  3. Navigate to the Scalable dropdown menu in the top left of the screen and follow the path: Support > Advanced Options.
  4. Select Add and configure the option: AdditionalOutputFormats | StringArray | XPlane. Select Accept.
  5. Check to see if your version of SDM has Advanced Option: XPlaneUseRelativePaths | Bool | False. If not, add it or navigate to the Export Options panel and specify the Remote Output Directory as the X-Plane installation path (default path- C:\X-Plane 12\).

Up-to-date versions of SDM will have this Advanced Option added already.
